BrotherHood
Halion 10 Normal – Down!
by puck on Jul.08, 2010, under BrotherHood, Raiding, Screenshots, Strategy, WoW, wotlk

Well done BrotherHood on another First Kill!
The team stuck with it and learned how to dodge lazers!
Phase 1 – shouldn’t need explanation. don’t stand in it. run out to be cleansed/cured.
Phase 2 – avoid the lasers. avoid the breath.
Phase 3 – same as Phase 1 and 2 only the raid is split.
First 8 cleared in one night.

Nice accomplishment for BrotherHood. We face-rolled the first 8 in 0ne night for the second week in a row and it feels like we can do it all the time. Putricide is giving our melee fits and is taking its toll on the patience of the raiders I think. I always seems that we have the people to down the first 8 on Tuesday but never the right mix for the Wednesday learning. Badge farming? Not sure if that is what is happening but it feels like it. We will see as we move forward.
Festergut Down!

What a battle and a challenge for us. A test of movement, situational awareness, dps and heals. The amount of damage that the tanks were taking after the third inhaled blight was incredible. For us, with DBM, skull stayed at melee, x went to the door and square ran away. Pretty simple.
Congratulations BrotherHood on another first kill!
Regarding Andromeda.

When people are removed from guilds, they tend to relate some facts but they do not tell the whole story.
“<02-28-10 11:34>[Somhairle] at some point, i’d like the guild’s side on Andromeda’s being kicked…when you have time”, — [56]
“<02-28-10 11:35>[Gnorbert] she was not removed because she had an alt in another guild.”, — [57]
“<02-28-10 11:35>[Gnorbert] which is what she has been telling everyone who will listen”, — [58]
“<02-28-10 11:36>[Gnorbert] she was removed for several reasons.”, — [59]
“<02-28-10 11:36>[Somhairle] i know you’re not arbitrary and i know she can be drama prone…i’m not excited here…”, — [60]
“<02-28-10 11:36>[Gnorbert] first, what is your relationship with andromeda?”, — [61]
“<02-28-10 11:37>[Somhairle] i don’t know her in RL, but she was a guildie elsewhere and I followed her here to BH”, — [62]
“<02-28-10 11:37>[Somhairle] after my last guild imploded…i’m not a ‘hopper’”, — [63]
“<02-28-10 11:37>[Gnorbert] she caused drama on two fronts primarily.”, — [64]
“<02-28-10 11:37>[Gnorbert] inter-guild and intra-guild.”, — [65]
“<02-28-10 11:38>[Gnorbert] got time for vent?”, — [66]
“<02-28-10 11:39>[Somhairle] i don’t atm, actually….but i should tomorrow”, — [67]
“<02-28-10 11:39>[Gnorbert] ok”, — [68]
“<02-28-10 11:39>[Gnorbert] i can explain the majority”, — [69]
“<02-28-10 11:39>[Gnorbert] we do not care where ppl have their alts”, — [70]
“<02-28-10 11:39>[Gnorbert] even if they are in guilds containing rather disgruntled ex-BH are.”, — [71]
“<02-28-10 11:39>[Gnorbert] eg Forgotten”, — [72]
“<02-28-10 11:40>[Gnorbert] that guild contains a particular person who has some personal vendetta against me, this guild and it extends into rea life.”, — [73]
“<02-28-10 11:41>[Gnorbert] but that has nothing to do with Andromeda”, — [74]
“<02-28-10 11:41>[Somhairle] sorry to hear it, life’s too short for that kind of silliness”, — [75]
“<02-28-10 11:41>[Gnorbert] until she used what she knew about that person and his dislikes”, — [76]
“<02-28-10 11:41>[Gnorbert] when she was put on standby for a raid”, — [77]
“<02-28-10 11:42>[Gnorbert] after she was put on standby, i was whispered and cussed and this guild insulted.”, — [78]
“<02-28-10 11:42>[Gnorbert] not from her .. from this other person.”, — [79]
“<02-28-10 11:43>[Gnorbert] regardless of intent. she was the catalyst in that situation and she knew it.”, — [80]
“<02-28-10 11:44>[Somhairle] well, it sounds like she had too thin a skin and played with fire”, — [81]
“<02-28-10 11:44>[Gnorbert] yes but I think she knew who she was talking to when she complained and could have forecast the result which is what she wanted to do in order to vent her frustration indirectly.”, — [82]
“<02-28-10 11:45>[Somhairle] well, it certainly sounds like a response was warranted…”, — [83]
“<02-28-10 11:46>[Gnorbert] i have never enjoyed kicking ppl out”, — [84]
“<02-28-10 11:46>[Somhairle] and i don’t know if expulsion was your, or would have been my, first choice, I can certainly see how she might have further escalated the situation”, — [85]
“<02-28-10 11:46>[Somhairle] i understand…it’s like firing someone in RL…it may be a game, but it can be personal too”, — [86]
“<02-28-10 11:46>[Gnorbert] it wasnt just that”, — [87]
“<02-28-10 11:47>[Gnorbert] i am an officer in this guild”, — [88]
“<02-28-10 11:47>[Gnorbert] we raid progression”, — [89]
“<02-28-10 11:47>[Gnorbert] i am not an officer in any other guild”, — [90]
“<02-28-10 11:47>[Somhairle] was she an officer in this other guild?”, — [91]
“<02-28-10 11:47>[Gnorbert] further i am not raiding in any other guild in progression”, — [92]
“<02-28-10 11:47>[Gnorbert] she is.”, — [93]
“<02-28-10 11:48>[Gnorbert] we saw that as a conflict of interest”, — [94]
“<02-28-10 11:48>[Somhairle] then i can see where that would be a conflict”, — [95]
“<02-28-10 11:48>[Somhairle] having alts in other places is one thing…but there’s only so much time to play…”, — [96]
“<02-28-10 11:48>[Gnorbert] we dont mind ppl having alts in other guilds .. let me be really clear on that”, — [97]
“<02-28-10 11:49>[Gnorbert] she was leading raids for this other guild and is an officer there”, — [98]
“<02-28-10 11:49>[Somhairle] and if you’re not just playing in, but managing, other guilds…then you need to revisit your priorities”, — [99]
“<02-28-10 11:49>[Gnorbert] i agree”, — [100]
“<02-28-10 11:49>[Somhairle] that being said, no more need be said”, — [101]
“<02-28-10 11:50>[Gnorbert] i am glad you understand and i hope that you will always be in BrotherHood”, — [102]
“<02-28-10 11:50>[Somhairle] i’m not planning on going anywhere…like i said, i’m not a ‘hopper’”, — [103]
“<02-28-10 11:50>[Gnorbert] i think Andromeda needs to tell people a bit more than she was kicked because she had an alt in Forgotten”, — [104]
“<02-28-10 11:50>[Gnorbert] because that is inaccurate.”, — [105]
“<02-28-10 11:50>[Somhairle] she did say more than that…enough that i wanted to ask for your side”, — [106]
“<02-28-10 11:51>[Somhairle] but she left out the detail about being an officer elsewhere…which, to my mind, is a deal-breaker”, — [107]
“<02-28-10 11:51>[Gnorbert] its not personal man”, — [108]
“<02-28-10 11:51>[Gnorbert] its just running a guild”, — [109]
“<02-28-10 11:51>[Gnorbert] people sometimes blend in a lot of emotions and I am just not that way”, — [110]
“<02-28-10 11:52>[Somhairle] so if anyone else asks, that might be the best fact to lead with, and avoid all the other stuff that can sound ‘he-said she-said’ and feed the drama”, — [111]
“<02-28-10 11:52>[Gnorbert] ok”, — [112]
“<02-28-10 11:52>[Somhairle] just a suggestion, sounds like you’re handling things fine”, — [113]
“<02-28-10 11:52>[Somhairle] and sorry for the hassle…ppl suck sometimes, even the ones you like”, — [114]
“<02-28-10 11:52>[Gnorbert] you just made me smile .. “, — [115]
“<02-28-10 11:52>[Gnorbert] how have you been?”, — [116]
“<02-28-10 11:52>[Somhairle] eh…ok, overall….”, — [117]
“<02-28-10 11:53>[Gnorbert] yeah me too”, — [118]
“<02-28-10 11:53>[Gnorbert] mostly”, — [119]
“<02-28-10 11:53>[Gnorbert] life is well, life”, — [120]
“<02-28-10 11:53>[Somhairle] true dat”, — [121]
“<02-28-10 11:54>[Gnorbert] i appreciate your advice”, — [122]
“<02-28-10 11:54>[Somhairle] any time”, — [123]
“<02-28-10 11:55>[Gnorbert] can i put this chat on my blog?”, — [124]
“<02-28-10 11:55>[Somhairle] be my guest”, — [125]
“<02-28-10 11:55>[Gnorbert] ok man thank you”, — [126]
“<02-28-10 11:55>[Gnorbert] i will put it up later tonight or tomorrow”, — [127]

Puck’s Ready Check
by puck on Feb.03, 2010, under BrotherHood, Coding, Gaming, WoW, c#, epgp
I have talked about the application known to BrotherHood members as PRC – Puck’s Ready Check.
It simply consumes the XML data from the WowArmory. It presents itself in an XML file as well with a bit of XSL in order to make itself slightly more pretty than XML alone
How does it work?
Every twelve hours, an automated task requests the BrotherHood guild roster from the Armory. The scheduled task then trolls the list and requests from the Armory each member’s raid achievements, their armor and their spec. BrotherHood uses EPGP for its looting system. Based on the GP formula, the Ready Check application produces a GP value for the gear of each member. A Gear Score, if you will, is produced.
I personally don’t think gear scores tell you much about a player but that is all we have before we raid or group with any player.
Also based on the GP formula, each raid zone in the game has a maximum GP value because of the ilvl of the drops from that zone.
Puck’s Ready Check then sorts the roster and the zones to show players where their possible next drop could come from based on their gear alone.
Contact me directly if you are interested in this for your guild.
